Christopher Lee as Count Dracula presides over Fred Williams’ Jonathan Harker during the castle dinner sequence in this richly atmospheric color photograph from COUNT DRACULA, surrounded by towering candles, deep crimson fabric and austere Gothic stonework. Harker sits at the laden table while Lee’s black-clad Dracula remains rigidly composed beside him, creating a wonderfully restrained encounter in which aristocratic hospitality masks the danger of Harker’s increasingly ominous host.

Jess Franco’s COUNT DRACULA (1970), produced by Harry Alan Towers and based on Bram Stoker’s novel, stars Christopher Lee as Count Dracula and Fred Williams as Jonathan Harker alongside Herbert Lom as Van Helsing, Klaus Kinski as Renfield, Maria Rohm as Mina and Soledad Miranda as Lucy. Unlike Lee’s Hammer Dracula films, this international production placed him in a separate interpretation of the Count that deliberately restored elements of Stoker’s novel, including Dracula’s initially older appearance and Harker’s extended stay at the Transylvanian castle.

Carefully restored from original studio-issued archival material and professionally lab-developed, this museum-quality photograph is presented uncropped, preserving the complete image area contained in the archival material. The towering candelabra, crimson-covered table, Gothic castle interior and restrained confrontation between Lee’s Dracula and Williams’ Harker create a distinctive collectible for Christopher Lee, Fred Williams, COUNT DRACULA, Jess Franco and classic European vampire cinema collectors.
