Roman Polanski is captured as Trelkovsky in this stark black-and-white character portrait from THE TENANT (1976), identified in contemporary Paramount Pictures documentation as still T-25-18. Seated alone outdoors in a heavy overcoat and scarf, his hands buried deeply in his pockets, Polanski appears physically withdrawn against a bleak setting of bare trees and empty chairs. The direct gaze and tightly contained posture turn an ordinary moment into an unsettling study of isolation.
Directed by Roman Polanski, THE TENANT stars Polanski as Trelkovsky alongside Isabelle Adjani, Melvyn Douglas and Shelley Winters, with cinematography by Sven Nykvist and production design by Pierre Guffroy. Often regarded as the concluding film in Polanski’s informal Apartment Trilogy after REPULSION and ROSEMARY’S BABY, the film transforms domestic unease into an increasingly disturbing exploration of identity, paranoia and psychological disintegration. The surviving Paramount still number gives this particular photograph an additional layer of period production provenance.
Carefully restored from original studio-issued archival material and professionally lab-developed, this museum-quality photograph is presented uncropped, preserving the complete image area contained in the archival material. Trelkovsky’s solitary posture, heavy winter clothing and austere outdoor surroundings remain fully preserved—a distinctive collectible for Roman Polanski, THE TENANT, 1970s psychological horror and Paramount Pictures collectors.

The William Turner by Hahnemühle is one of the most popular papers used in the Giclee printing industry. This is a 310g natural white mould made natural line paper with 100% rag content making it highly archival. It has a slight coarse texture which gives photos and artwork an elegant look. These fine art paper prints (also known as Giclee) are ordered by galleries, individual artists and photographers. The papers and inks are not only archival but use some of the most accurate print technology for full color prints.

The window will be 1/8″ smaller than the print dimensions.
