Hammer’s THE REVENGE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1958) is represented through this striking original Belgian theatrical design, dominated by a grotesque disfigured face and grasping hand above a prone female figure. The vivid Technicolor imagery, bold LA REVANCHE DE FRANKENSTEIN typography and macabre medical atmosphere create an unmistakably European interpretation of Hammer’s early Gothic Frankenstein cycle.

Directed by Terence Fisher, THE REVENGE OF FRANKENSTEIN stars Peter Cushing as Baron Frankenstein alongside Francis Matthews, Eunice Gayson and Michael Gwynn. A direct continuation of THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1957), the film follows Frankenstein operating under the identity Dr. Victor Stein and further established Cushing’s calculating interpretation of the Baron as one of Hammer Horror’s defining characters.
