The bold CRIME AU MUSÉE DES HORREURS title, dramatic CinemaScope composition and richly painted continental style give the poster an unmistakable late-1950s exploitation-horror identity.

Directed by Arthur Crabtree, HORRORS OF THE BLACK MUSEUM stars Michael Gough as crime writer Edmond Bancroft alongside June Cunningham, Graham Curnow and Shirley Anne Field. Produced by Herman Cohen, the British production blended murder, criminal psychology and gruesome murder devices; its American release by AIP was additionally promoted with the Hypno-Vista gimmick, a specially filmed hypnotism prologue.
